Banking Lawyer Jobs
In the main, Banking is a legal service offering limited to the larger commercial law firms although there are a small number of boutique commercial law firms who also offer this specialism as part of their legal services although they represent the exception rather than the rule here.
Banking tends to involve both non-contentious and contentious areas which are typically split into separate departments. Non-contentious banking typically involves solicitors advising corporate borrowers and banks on real estate/property, acquisition and asset financing matters. Contentious banking is typically quite niche and will often be part of a law firm’s commercial litigation offering.
Aside from the traditional private practice fee earning career paths from solicitor to Associate and upwards we have also recruited PSL roles within Banking and have seen a number of In-house opportunities to further add to an increasingly diverse range of career options for today’s banking solicitor which is often perceived as a particularly niche area.
A career in banking can sometimes be perceived as niche and with limited routes for career enhancement compared with other legal specialisms however this is not the case. Our specialist legal consultants have recruited within private practice for traditional fee earning roles as well as PSL roles. Also, there have been an array of In-House opportunities, both permanent and by way of secondment, with a variety of corporates such as clearing banks and investment banks which together make for an area of law which offers a variety of career paths both in private practice and In-House. Accordingly, if you would like to speak to one of our consultants then call us today to have a discussion in confidence with one of our specialist legal recruitment consultants.
