In-house Professional Negligence Solicitor

The role
Our in-house Professional Indemnity Claims team is expanding rapidly as part of our growing business and welcomes highly talented and motivated individuals to join the team in our Leeds office. Our Leeds team works closely with the Professional Indemnity Underwriters based there as well as in our other northern offices and support our northern regional brokers. Key responsibilities
As Professional Indemnity Claims Advisor, you will have responsibility for managing a mixed caseload of Professional Indemnity claims. You will also work closely with the business, in particular, providing invaluable feedback to underwriters regarding particular classes of business and risk management issues.

An appetite for challenge is a must in this role, as well as a practical commercial approach to resolution of claims.
Person Specification

• Candidates will be educated to graduate level and preferably with a degree in law.
• Experience in a legal environment, a qualified solicitor (3 yrs PQE min) or a Claims Underwriter at an insurance company with a heavy Professional Indemnity background.
• Very good technical knowledge of Professional Indemnity claims is a must with a good understanding of CPR.
• Ability to use own initiative and confident in taking decisions and managing responsibility and priorities.
• A confident individual with drive, ambition, and excellent people skills.
