PFI

The Private Finance Iinitiative (PFI) is a procurement method which uses private sector expertise and resources in order to deliver public sector infrastructure and/or service. It is a sub-set of a broader procurement approach termed Public Private Partnership (PPP), with the main defining characteristic being the use of project finance (and in particular, using private sector debt and equity) in order to deliver the public services.

An area of law more commonly practiced in the larger national firms, it often overlaps with construction. Every PFI deal has got its own particular characteristics.

We regularly get instructed on projects roles and these are often not advertised but filled by lawyers who we know are keen to learn about new opportunities. Alerting us to your interest in the sector could be highly beneficial to you.
