All too often, we speak to candidates whose CVs have been sent out speculatively to all and sundry, with little or no focus or explanation, nor any idea of what role awaits, if indeed there is a role there at all.

Choose someone who will listen to you and what you're looking for, as well as what you're not, and who wants to understand the reasons behind your preferences. Don't just choose someone who will just tell you what's out there – expect someone to advise you on what's best for you and your career.
