Paralegal is a job title that covers a multitude of roles but at Sacco Mann our specialist paralegal teams have got it covered.
Some practices, often the larger commercial teams, see paralegals as Law graduates looking for a role as a bit of a stepping stone before they take on their training contract Increasingly some our mid tier clients are using this as a way of recruiting the majority of their trainees with formal training programs to prepare them for the next stage of their careers. We are often instructed on roles like this for paralegals with around six months experience and less frequently for entry level roles. Talk to one of our consultants to find out more up to date information on the current market.
The other category of paralegal is what is best described as a career paralegal. This is someone, usually with a law degree (not always the case) who has decided not to qualify as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer. We see many candidates, particularly in the fields of personal injury, residential conveyancing, debt and private client who have chosen this route and are very successful fee earners in their own right. Once again our specialist paralegal teams can advise on this route but this is a very busy area for our teams.
