The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Banking Associate or Senior Associate to join the Birmingham office of a highly regarded national law firm.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-value financing transactions, advising an impressive client base that includes major UK and international banks, alternative lenders, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers. The team is involved in complex and often market-leading transactions across general banking, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, project finance, and asset-based lending.

The Work
- Advising lenders, borrowers, and sponsors on a broad range of financing transactions.
- Acting on acquisition finance, leveraged finance, project finance, and asset-based lending matters.
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation, intercreditor agreements, and ancillary finance documents.
- Supporting private equity-backed transactions and complex structured finance arrangements.
- Managing transactions from inception through to completion while coordinating with clients, advisers, and other stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted commercial adviser.
- Collaborating with colleagues across corporate, real estate, restructuring, and other specialist teams.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with between 4 and 9 years' PQE in Banking and Finance.
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of financing transactions.
- Experience drafting and negotiating facility agreements, LMA-based documentation, and related finance documents.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Commercially aware with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions effectively.
- A collaborative team player with a desire to progress within a leading banking practice.
