The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Banking Solicitor to join the Birmingham office of a highly regarded national law firm with a strong reputation in the finance sector.

This position offers exposure to a broad range of high-quality banking and finance matters, acting for an impressive client base that includes major banks, alternative lenders, investment funds, and corporate borrowers. You will work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, gaining experience across a variety of financing structures and sectors.

The Work

  • Advising lenders and borrowers on a broad range of banking and finance transactions.
  • Acting on acquisition finance, development finance, secured lending, bilateral and syndicated lending matters.
  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation, intercreditor arrangements, and ancillary finance documents.
  • Supporting clients on complex domestic and international financing transactions.
  • Managing matters from instruction through to completion with appropriate partner support.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal advice.
  • Working closely with colleagues across corporate, real estate, restructuring, and other specialist teams.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the banking practice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with between 5 and 8 years' PQE in Banking and Finance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of finance transactions and lending structures.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating finance documentation.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Commercially minded with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Able to manage a varied workload while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ambitious and motivated to further develop a career within a leading banking team.
