About the role

  • Position: Public Law / Care Solicitor
  • Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Practice Area: Public Law / Care Proceedings
  • Location: Cheshire (Hybrid working available)

This role involves representing clients in care proceedings, including pre-proceedings and court hearings, primarily acting for parents. You will handle the full spectrum of public law matters, conducting yourself confidently in court, and attending pre and advocates meetings. The organisation values proactive, communicative lawyers who can deliver high-quality advice and advocacy, supported by excellent IT and case management tools.

The ideal candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with current registration and experience in public or care law.
  • Experience working with local authority matters and family proceedings.
  • Possesses or is working towards Law Society’s Accredited Children Panel status.
  • Strong advocacy, communication, and client management skills.
  • Motivated to work collaboratively and take ownership of cases.
