About the role

This Permanent Associate role sits within the firm’s Complex Injury Claims Team in Southampton, offering a unique chance to work on high-value, catastrophic injury claims including brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and fatal cases. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, supporting cases from initial instruction through to resolution—whether settlement or trial. Your responsibilities will include analysing complex evidence, preparing technical advice, instructing counsel, and liaising with insurer clients and external stakeholders. The position offers hybrid working, with flexibility to work remotely part of the week, ideal for balancing work-life commitments whilst delivering exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate

- A qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in catastrophic injury claims

- Familiar with high-value, complex litigation, ideally involving brain or spinal injuries

- Confident in handling indemnity, liability, and quantum issues

- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

- Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills

- Well-versed in litigation procedures, case law, and court rules

- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

- Exposure to medical issues or use of the Ogden Tables is desirable, but a genuine interest in complex injury litigation is essential.
