Are you a recently qualified up to circa 5 PQE Patent Attorney looking to broaden your technical expertise and take on increasingly complex client work? The opportunity
The role offers a varied workload spanning a broad range of technologies, including pharmaceutical chemistry, food chemistry, polymers, sustainable and green technologies, composite materials, energy storage and battery technologies. You’ll work with clients to protect and maximise the value of their intellectual property, developing your technical and commercial understanding along the way.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the UK, Europe and other international jurisdictions, advising on portfolio development and providing guidance on patentability, validity and infringement. You’ll also have the opportunity to become involved in contentious matters, including patent oppositions and appeals, alongside experienced practitioners.
As your career develops, you’ll play an increasingly active role in managing client relationships, delivering commercially focused advice and contributing to the continued development of the practice.
About you
We’re keen to hear from UK and European Patent Attorneys who have recently qualified or have up to circa 5 years’ post-qualification experience. You’ll have a strong academic background in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, together with experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
You’ll bring sound technical judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, practical advice. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses will be important, as will the ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of your responsibilities.
