An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Newcastle.
This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their commercial career within a small, specialist team, working on a genuinely varied caseload with a particular focus on technology, digital and commercial contracts.
The role would ideally suit someone around 3 years’ PQE, although applications from solicitors with 2+ years’ PQE will also be considered. For a particularly experienced candidate, there is flexibility around the salary.
The role
You’ll handle a varied commercial caseload, with particular exposure to technology-led businesses. Your work will include:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Technology, IT, SaaS, cloud and outsourcing agreements
- Data protection and GDPR
- Procurement, supply, distribution, agency and franchising
- Advising clients on commercial risk and providing practical legal solutions
- Building strong client relationships and supporting business development
About you
A qualified solicitor confident in drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts. Technology/digital experience would be particularly attractive, with SaaS, IT contracts or GDPR experience highly relevant.
Experience of IP or trade marks would be an advantage but is not essential.
They're looking for someone commercially minded, technically strong and able to manage their own workload, who enjoys working closely with clients and as part of a supportive team.

- £52,000 – £65,000, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
