Construction Solicitor | Leading Team | Birmingham, West Midlands | 1 day per week in the office.

Joining the Birmingham office of a leading national law firm, you'll become part of a highly regarded Construction team advising an impressive client base of developers, contractors, funders, consultants and public sector organisations. The team is recognised for delivering commercially focused advice on some of the UK's most significant development and infrastructure projects, offering the opportunity to work alongside recognised experts in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The role
You'll advise clients on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, supporting projects from inception through to completion.
Your work will include drafting and negotiating industry-standard construction documentation, including JCT and NEC contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and ancillary project documentation. You'll also advise on procurement strategies, risk allocation, project delivery and the construction aspects of wider real estate and corporate transactions.
Working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, you'll manage your own matters while supporting on larger, more complex projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial development, regeneration, infrastructure, healthcare, education and residential schemes.
You'll also have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, collaborate with colleagues across the wider Real Estate and Corporate teams, and become involved in business development as the practice continues to grow.
What they're looking for
- The structure of the team will support an appointment from 3+ years' PQE with strong non-contentious construction experience.
- There is no upper cap on the level of experience that will be considered.
- Experience drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC and other construction documentation
- Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage your own workload while working collaboratively within a wider team
- Proactive approach to client relationship management and business development
