Court of Protection Solicitor

Looking for your next step in Court of Protection work?

We’re working with a well-regarded law firm looking to add a Court of Protection Solicitor to its specialist team in Newcastle. This is an opportunity to manage a Health & Welfare caseload, supporting vulnerable individuals and helping them access the right representation. There is also scope to combine Court of Protection work with Mental Health Tribunal matters, depending on your experience and interests.

What will you be doing?

You’ll manage your own caseload of Court of Protection matters relating to Health & Welfare, representing clients and supporting them through complex proceedings. Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to undertake Mental Health Tribunal work, including representing clients at hearings and related proceedings.

Is this the right fit for you?

The firm is looking for a Solicitor with experience managing a Court of Protection Health & Welfare caseload. Experience in Mental Health Tribunal work would be an advantage but isn’t essential. You’ll need strong communication and organisational skills, alongside a commitment to supporting vulnerable clients.

What makes this opportunity worth considering?

  • Specialist work: Develop your expertise within an established Court of Protection team with a strong reputation.
  • Flexible role: Focus solely on Health & Welfare work or combine it with Mental Health Tribunal matters.
  • Work-life balance: Full-time and part-time applications are welcome, with hybrid working available.
  • Career development: Access training, professional development and opportunities to progress your expertise.
  • Supportive team: Work collaboratively with experienced solicitors across the Court of Protection and Mental Health teams.
