EL/PL Litigator | Bradford | Hybrid Working |

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced EL/PL Litigator to join a highly regarded, commercially focused litigation team based in Bradford. This is a fantastic role for a solicitor with at least 5 years’ experience who is confident running their own caseload or has strong defendant EL/PL experience and is looking to take the next step in their career.

You will be joining a supportive and well-structured team environment, with strong supervision, established systems, and genuine opportunities for professional development.

 

 The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied defendant Employers’ Liability / Public Liability (EL/PL) caseload, predominantly retail-based, from inception through to trial, with occasional pre-litigation work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Running a full litigation caseload from start to trial
  • Handling a mix of EL/PL claims, primarily within a retail environment
  • Providing clear and commercially focused advice on liability and quantum
  • Delivering excellent service to clients, ensuring efficient and cost-effective outcomes
  • Working closely within a wider litigation team and benefiting from structured supervision
  • Staying up to date with relevant legislation, case law, and technical developments (with internal support provided)
  • Ensuring compliance with risk, regulatory, and AML procedures
  • Managing complaints appropriately in line with internal policies
  • Upholding high standards in line with Equality & Diversity commitments

 

About You

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in litigation
  • Experience defending higher value intermediate/multi-track claims
  • Exposure to EL/PL work, ideally within a retail context (preferred)
  • Ability to run your own caseload independently (or strong readiness to do so)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator, able to deal with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to use initiative
