If you’re a newly qualified or soon-to-qualify solicitor looking to build your employment law career within a leading national law firm, this is an excellent opportunity.

This is a chance to join a highly regarded Employment team advising employer clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters. The team is known for delivering commercially focused advice to businesses across a variety of sectors, while maintaining a supportive and collaborative culture.

You’ll gain exposure to high-quality respondent work, combining early responsibility for your own matters with the opportunity to support senior lawyers on complex and strategic employment issues.

The Role

You’ll be joining a specialist Employment team based in Birmingham, advising employer clients on a wide range of workplace and HR matters.

Your work will include supporting clients on Employment Tribunal claims, disciplinary and grievance issues, discrimination matters, redundancies and day-to-day employment advisory work.

You’ll also assist with drafting employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements and wider HR documentation, while supporting senior lawyers on more complex disputes and corporate support matters.

The role offers strong client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with HR teams, business owners and in-house counsel across a variety of sectors.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across all stages of the employment process, developing both technical expertise and commercial awareness within a highly regarded national practice.

What they’re looking for

• Newly Qualified Solicitor or due to qualify shortly
• At least one seat in employment law during training
• Strong interest in respondent employment work
• Understanding of Employment Tribunal procedures and employment legislation
• Strong communication and drafting skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Team-oriented and proactive mindset
