This is an excellent opportunity for a family lawyer looking to join a supportive and established team, handling a high-quality caseload with a particular focus on divorce, separation and financial remedy work. The role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for your own matters, build strong client relationships and continue developing your career within a respected family department.
The Role
- Managing a varied family law caseload with a particular focus on divorce and financial matters
- Advising clients on divorce and separation
- Handling financial remedy matters arising from divorce and relationship breakdown
- Advising on the division of matrimonial assets, pensions, property and other financial interests
- Drafting applications, statements, consent orders and other relevant documentation
- Negotiating financial settlements on behalf of clients
- Representing clients in court proceedings and hearings where required
- Advising clients on the most appropriate routes to resolving disputes, including negotiation and mediation
- Providing clear, practical and empathetic advice throughout matters
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider department

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of divorce and financial remedy matters
- Advising clients from initial instruction through to conclusion
- Handling financial disclosure and identifying matrimonial assets
- Drafting legal correspondence, applications, statements and orders
- Negotiating financial settlements with opposing solicitors
- Preparing matters for hearings and representing clients where appropriate
- Liaising with counsel, experts and other professional advisers
- Maintaining accurate and compliant case records
- Providing excellent client care throughout often sensitive matters
- Contributing to the continued development of the Family department
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Family Solicitor with a strong background in divorce and financial remedy work. You will have:
- Qualified Solicitor with previous Family Law experience
- Strong experience handling divorce and financial remedy matters
- Good knowledge of matrimonial finances and financial disclosure
- Experience managing your own caseload
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Ability to provide clear and practical advice on sensitive issues
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
- Ambition to develop and progress within a respected Family department
