In-house Commercial Paralegal | Hull | Hybrid Working & Competitive Salary

The Role

Working alongside the Legal Counsel, you will provide day-to-day legal and compliance support across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
• Supporting governance and compliance processes by triaging legal queries, resolving routine matters and escalating more complex issues where appropriate.
• Preparing legal and commercial materials to support sales teams during bids and customer engagements.
• Assisting with the implementation and continuous improvement of legal and compliance processes,
• Drafting policies, guidance notes and template documentation for approval by Legal Counsel.
• Producing contracts and other legal documentation using standard templates.
• Managing data protection matters, including subject access requests, breach reporting, ICO notifications and maintenance of the data risk register.
• Coordinating information from stakeholders and ensuring compliance deadlines and actions are completed on time.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Experience working as a commercial contracts paralegal in either in-house or private practice
• Experience handling confidential commercial and business information.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Excellent research skills with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, audience-appropriate documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving legal and compliance issues.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk against practical business needs.

It would also be advantageous if you have:

• Experience working with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance or regulatory frameworks.
• Experience improving or implementing legal processes.

• Salary of £32,000 - £40,000, depending on experience.
