Insolvency Associate Solicitor

The Opportunity

We are currently assisting a respected client in recruiting an Associate for their Insolvency team to be based in their Manchester office. The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with between 2–5 years' post-qualification experience in insolvency and restructuring to join a well-established and highly regarded dispute resolution and litigation team. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, acting for a variety of stakeholders including insolvency practitioners, businesses, directors, creditors, and lenders.

You will be given the autonomy to manage your own caseload while also supporting senior lawyers on more complex and high-value matters. This role offers exposure to quality work, direct client contact, and excellent opportunities for professional development within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advising a range of stakeholders on insolvency and restructuring matters.
  • Managing a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious insolvency work.
  • Handling insolvency-related litigation, including disputes involving directors, creditors, and office holders.
  • Supporting senior lawyers and partners on complex, high-value, and strategically important cases.
  • Drafting legal documentation, correspondence, and court-related documents.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing commercially focused advice.
  • Assisting with business development initiatives, networking opportunities, and client engagement activities.
  • Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments within insolvency and restructuring.

 

What They're Looking For

  • A qualified Solicitor with 2–5 years' PQE and a solid background in insolvency and restructuring law.
  • Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters.
  • The ability to manage files independently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge combined with a pragmatic and commercial approach to client service.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence when dealing directly with clients and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach.
  • A genuine interest in developing your practice and contributing to the continued growth and success of the team and wider firm.
