Legal Operations Manager

About the Role

We’re working with a leading national law firm who are seeking a Legal Operations Manager to join its rapidly growing Health Business Group. This is a pivotal role focused on driving continuous improvement across legal service delivery, enhancing operational efficiency, and embedding innovation through technology, data, and automation.

You will play a key part in shaping how legal services are delivered across a large, high-performing healthcare practice, working closely with legal teams and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement scalable, data-led solutions that deliver measurable impact for both the firm and its clients.

 

The Team

This opportunity sits within one of the firm’s fastest-growing business groups, comprising over 200 lawyers with national reach. The team is widely recognised for advising NHS bodies and independent healthcare organisations, and continues to grow year-on-year as a key strategic area of the firm’s practice.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders including Finance Business Partners to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial efficiency
  • Build strong relationships with third-party suppliers to optimise service quality and cost effectiveness
  • Promote collaboration across business groups to share best practice and drive alignment
  • Support recruitment activity aligned to business strategy
  • Ensure compliance with training and performance processes across the group
  • Contribute to CSR initiatives and a culture of accountability and integrity
  • Design and implement streamlined processes, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Support consistent, high-quality legal service delivery across teams
  • Collaborate with innovation and project teams to implement legal tech solutions (including AI, document automation, and case management systems)
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor performance, efficiency, throughput, and profitability
  • Use data insights to support pricing, forecasting, and matter scoping
  • Improve decision-making through enhanced use of operational data
  • Lead on change initiatives linked to new processes and technology adoption
  • Deliver training to legal teams on systems, workflows, and best practice
  • Support embedding of continuous improvement across the business group

 

What They're Looking For

An experienced legal operations or legal transformation professional with a strong track record of improving service delivery within a law firm, in-house legal team, or professional services environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in legal operations, transformation, or service delivery improvement
  • Demonstrable success delivering measurable efficiency or client value improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Good understanding of data analytics and its application in legal operations
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and independent approach
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using a range of systems and tools
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Willingness to travel as required
