This is a chance to join a well-established defendant litigation team working with public sector clients, including local authorities. The team is known for delivering practical, commercially focused advice across a range of complex and sensitive matters, while maintaining a friendly and supportive culture.

You’ll gain exposure to a broad mix of work, combining day-to-day responsibility for your own caseload with the opportunity to support on high-value and complex claims.

 

The Role

You’ll be joining a specialist litigation team in Birmingham, handling defendant personal injury claims on behalf of local authority clients. Alongside managing your own files, you’ll also support Partners and senior lawyers on more complex matters.

Your work will include defending a range of personal injury claims, as well as assisting on complex social care and data breach claims. You’ll be involved in cases from initial instruction through to resolution, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the litigation process.

You’ll be advising clients directly, working closely with key stakeholders, and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in line with relevant legal and procedural requirements.

The role offers a strong platform for development, with structured support and the opportunity to build both technical expertise and client management skills.

 

What they’re looking for:

• Newly Qualified Solicitor or due to qualify shortly

• At least one seat in litigation or personal injury

• Strong interest in defendant litigation work

• Understanding of litigation procedures and case management

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
