If you are an experienced Patent Paralegal looking for your next move, this could be an excellent fit. We are representing a well-established intellectual property firm that is seeking a capable and organised individual to support its patent attorneys and wider team. The role offers exposure to UK, European and international patent work within a collaborative environment where precision, initiative and client care are highly valued.

The Role

In this position, you will help keep patent matters moving efficiently from instruction through to filing, prosecution and post-grant administration. You will work closely with attorneys, colleagues in other offices and clients, making sure deadlines are monitored, documents are prepared accurately and records remain up to date.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and submitting patent filings through the EPO, UKIPO and PCT routes.
  • Assisting with prosecution paperwork, including responses, validations and other formalities.
  • Monitoring deadlines and keeping docketing information accurate and current.
  • Producing portfolio summaries and progress updates for clients.
  • Reviewing incoming official correspondence and ensuring matters are directed appropriately.
  • Supporting portfolio transfers, audits and status checks.
  • Providing administrative and procedural support to attorneys.
  • Maintaining accurate client and matter records.
  • Contributing to process improvements, training and wider team projects.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who bring steadfast organisational skills and a genuine interest in patents.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Patent Paralegal role or within patent support.
  • A solid understanding of EPO, UKIPO and PCT procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently when needed.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with patent management or docketing systems.
