Private Client Solicitor | Hybrid | Growing team | Career progression
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Wills & Probate Solicitor to join a well-established Private Client team in either Birmingham.
This is a great opportunity for a solicitor with experience in Wills, Probate and estate administration to work alongside the Head of the Court of Protection / Private Client team on a varied caseload, including high-value and more complex matters.
You’ll have genuine client contact from an early stage, working with individuals and families during often sensitive periods while developing your technical expertise within an experienced and supportive team.
The Work will include:
- Managing new client enquiries and taking instructions.
- Drafting simple and complex Wills.
- Advising on inheritance tax and estate planning.
- Establishing and administering trusts, including trust registration.
- Handling both straightforward and complex Probate and estate administration matters.
- Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Advising clients and families following the loss of a loved one.
- Drafting correspondence and managing day-to-day client communication.
- Keeping clients updated throughout matters and providing clear, empathetic advice.
- Working alongside senior lawyers on higher-value and more complex cases.
- Managing your own caseload and meeting relevant deadlines.
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and Private Client practice.
- Supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.
About You
We’re looking for a solicitor with:
- Previous experience within a Wills, Probate or Private Client team.
- Good technical knowledge across Wills, Probate and estate administration.
- Experience managing your own caseload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client care skills and the ability to build rapport with vulnerable clients and their families.
- A sensitive and empathetic approach when dealing with clients who have experienced bereavement.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Confidence using case management systems and standard IT packages.
- Experience of contentious Probate would be advantageous but is not essential.
