An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Professional Indemnity Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE to join a large regional law firm in Birmingham.
The team acts for a range of professional clients and insurers on a broad range of professional negligence and indemnity disputes. The role offers the opportunity to handle interesting and complex claims, take responsibility for your own caseload and work alongside experienced litigators within a supportive team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Professional Indemnity Solicitor looking to develop their career within a well-established regional practice.
The Work will include:
- Managing a caseload of professional indemnity and professional negligence claims.
- Acting for insurers, professionals and corporate clients.
- Handling claims from initial instruction through to resolution.
- Advising on liability, causation, quantum and strategy.
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, witness statements and other litigation documents.
- Conducting legal research and preparing cases for hearings.
- Negotiating settlements and attending mediations where appropriate.
- Working with experts and counsel on more complex matters.
- Managing deadlines, costs and case progression.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex disputes.
- Contributing to business development and client relationship initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for a solicitor with:
- 5+ years’ PQE in Professional Indemnity, Professional Negligence or a closely related area of litigation.
- Strong experience handling contentious matters from instruction through to resolution.
- Good knowledge of civil litigation procedure and case management.
- Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.
- The ability to assess complex factual and legal issues and provide clear advice.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage your own caseload and competing deadlines.
- A commercial and practical approach to dispute resolution.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
