A highly regarded national law firm is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join its growing Property Litigation team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate or paralegal looking to build a long-term career within litigation, housing management and property litigation, joining a well-established and specialist team acting for a broad range of clients including registered providers, landlords, developers, local authorities and private organisations.

The Role

The successful candidate will support Solicitors and Senior Fee Earners on a varied caseload of housing management and property litigation matters, whilst also developing responsibility for their own files.

The work will include:

  • Possession proceedings relating to rent arrears and anti-social behaviour
  • Injunction applications
  • Disrepair claims
  • Leaseholder disputes and forfeiture matters
  • Unauthorised occupier claims
  • General property litigation and housing management work

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting pleadings, claim forms and witness statements
  • Preparing court bundles and legal documents
  • Managing deadlines across multiple files
  • Liaising with courts, counsel and clients
  • Attending court to assist barristers and fee earners
  • Conducting advocacy on routine County Court matters
  • Undertaking legal research and file management duties

Candidate Requirements

Applications are welcomed from candidates with previous paralegal experience or strong legal academics seeking to develop within litigation or property law.

Candidates should ideally have:

  • A degree in Law or a related subject
  • Strong drafting and legal research skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Confidence managing competing deadlines and workloads
  • A proactive and professional approach
  • Strong attention to detail and client care skills

Experience within housing management, property litigation or county court work would be advantageous but is not essential.

Candidates who have completed or are currently studying the LPC or SQE are also encouraged to apply.
