Property Litigation Solicitor - 3+ years’ PQE | Leeds

A great opportunity to work closely with the Head of Property Disputes

Are you a property litigation solicitor looking for a role where you can develop your expertise, take ownership of your work, assist more junior lawyers and build a close working relationship with an experienced department head?

An established commercial law firm in Leeds is looking for a talented Property Litigation Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE to join its Property Disputes team, working directly with the Head of Department.

This is an opportunity to join an established, commercially focused practice advising businesses and property clients on a broad range of contentious property matters. You will play an important role in delivering excellent client service, managing disputes and supporting the continued development of the team.

The opportunity

The firm has built a strong reputation for providing practical, commercially astute advice to businesses across a range of sectors. Its property disputes practice works with clients on complex and varied issues, combining technical expertise with a straightforward, solutions-focused approach.

Working closely with the Head of Property Disputes, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own matters, contribute to the management of complex disputes and develop your experience through direct collaboration with a senior specialist.

The role would suit a solicitor who enjoys the technical challenges of property litigation but also understands the importance of commercial judgement, clear communication and building lasting client relationships.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial property disputes, with appropriate supervision and support.

  • Supporting and assisting more junior lawyers with their day-to-day work and overall career development.

  • Advising a broad range of clients on contentious landlord and tenant matters, lease renewals, dilapidations and breaches of covenant.

  • Working on disputes involving easements, rights to light, restrictive covenants, adverse possession and other property-related issues.

  • Assisting with complex litigation, negotiations, mediations and dispute resolution strategies.

  • Drafting legal advice, correspondence, pleadings and other litigation documents.

  • Working directly with the Head of Department on case strategy, client matters and the delivery of high-quality legal services.

  • Building trusted relationships with sophisticated clients and other professional advisers, providing clear and commercially focused advice.

  • Contributing to the continued growth and success of the property disputes practice.

About you

You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE (potentially much more) with experience in commercial property disputes.

You will ideally bring:

  • A solid grounding in contentious property work and a genuine interest in developing your specialism.

  • Strong analytical, drafting and case-management skills.

  • The confidence to manage matters proactively and take responsibility for delivering results.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify practical solutions that meet clients’ objectives.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • A collaborative approach, with the initiative to work independently and the judgement to seek input when needed.

We are interested in hearing from solicitors who want to build on their existing experience, broaden their technical expertise and play an active role within a supportive, ambitious team.

Why consider this opportunity?

The firm combines high-quality legal expertise with practical advice, a personal approach and a clear understanding of clients’ businesses.

You will benefit from:

  • Direct access to senior expertise: work closely with the Head of Property Disputes and gain valuable insight into complex matters and the running of a specialist practice.

  • Quality and variety of work: advise a diverse commercial client base on a broad range of property disputes.

  • Responsibility and development: build your experience, take ownership of your work and develop your professional capabilities.

  • A collaborative culture: work with colleagues who value clear communication, strong relationships and excellent client service.

  • Career progression and support: benefit from coaching, feedback and opportunities to develop your career.

  • A competitive benefits package: including hybrid working and other benefits, to be confirmed.
