An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Law Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE to join the Birmingham office of a leading national law firm.

This role offers the chance to work on a broad range of public and regulatory matters, advising public sector bodies and organisations on complex issues including public law, procurement, grant funding and subsidy control.

You’ll join an established and highly regarded team, working alongside experienced lawyers on interesting, high-quality matters while developing strong client relationships and taking increasing responsibility for your own work.

The Role

Your work is likely to include:

  • Advising public sector clients on public law and governance issues.
  • Advising on public procurement and tender processes.
  • Supporting clients with grant funding arrangements.
  • Advising on subsidy control requirements.
  • Assisting with complex and high-value projects and transactions.
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial and public sector documentation.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver practical, commercially focused advice.
  • Developing client relationships and contributing to business development activity.

About You

We’re looking for a solicitor with:

  • 3+ years’ PQE in public law, procurement or a complementary area.
  • Experience advising public sector clients would be advantageous.
  • Strong technical and drafting skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and an ability to provide clear, practical advice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
  • An interest in developing a career within a leading national public law practice.
