The residential property team handles a broad range of conveyancing matters and is known for providing a smooth, personal service to clients throughout the transaction process. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant looking to join a supportive environment where development and progression are genuinely encouraged.

The Role

This Residential Conveyancing Assistant role will see you working closely with experienced Conveyancers and Solicitors, providing both administrative and paralegal support across a busy residential property caseload.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfer of equity matters
  • Opening and closing files and maintaining accurate case records
  • Preparing and issuing client care documentation
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents
  • Issuing sales contract packs
  • Ordering and reviewing searches
  • Carrying out pre-exchange and pre-completion searches
  • Managing post-completion registrations and Land Registry applications
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third-party solicitors
  • Handling enquiries and providing regular updates to clients
  • Assisting with billing and financial administration
  • Using case management systems and conveyancing portals including HM Land Registry, LMS and lender portals

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this Conveyancing Assistant position, you should have:

  • At least 2 years' experience working within residential conveyancing
  • Previous experience supporting the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion
  • Strong knowledge of Land Registry processes and conveyancing procedures
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Experience using legal case management systems (P4W experience would be advantageous)
  • Strong communication and client care skills
  • A proactive, team-focused approach
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced residential property department
