An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate specialising in Residential Development to join the Birmingham office of a leading national law firm.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property lawyer to work on high-quality residential development matters for an impressive client base, including housebuilders, developers, investors and landowners.

You’ll join a well-established and highly regarded team, working on significant development projects while taking a leading role on transactions and developing strong, long-term client relationships.

The Role

Your work will include:

  • Acting for developers and housebuilders on residential development projects.
  • Advising on the acquisition and disposal of development land.
  • Handling complex conditional contracts, option agreements and promotion agreements.
  • Advising on overage arrangements, development agreements and collaboration structures.
  • Dealing with site set-up, infrastructure agreements, easements, covenants and title issues.
  • Managing transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Working closely with colleagues across planning, construction, finance and other specialist teams.
  • Taking an active role in developing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.

About You

We’re looking for a solicitor with:

  • Strong residential development experience within a recognised Real Estate practice.
  • Experience acting for housebuilders, developers or other property-sector clients.
  • Excellent technical, drafting and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ambition to develop your career and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
