An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Development Solicitor to join a well-established and growing Housebuilding team in Newcastle.

This role suits a solicitor with 4+ years' PQE and strong housebuilder experience, looking to join a supportive, established team advising national, regional, and SME residential developers on a broad range of high-quality residential development matters.

The Role

You will handle a varied caseload of residential development work, including:

  • Advising housebuilders on site acquisitions, site assembly and disposals.
  • Undertaking due diligence and preparing detailed legal reports.
  • Drafting and negotiating Contracts, Option Agreements, Promotion Agreements, Building Leases, Transfers and Overage Agreements.
  • Preparing development sites for plot sales and working closely with other specialist teams to ensure a smooth transition through to sale.
  • Managing your own caseload while developing strong and lasting client relationships.
  • Supporting and supervising junior solicitors, trainees and paralegals where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the residential development practice.

About You

You will be a qualified solicitor with 4 - 10yrs PQE and, importantly, will have strong experience acting for housebuilders on residential development matters.

You will also have:

  • A strong understanding of residential development and housebuilder transactions.
  • Excellent technical drafting and negotiation skills.
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to your work.
  • Strong organisational, communication and client relationship skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
  • An interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
