Senior Banking & Finance Associate | 5+ PQE | Manchester | Leading UK Law Firm
A leading UK law firm with a strong national presence and international reach is looking to recruit a Senior Banking & Finance Associate to join its established team in Manchester.
This is a key hire into a high-performing team acting for major UK clearing banks, alternative lenders and corporate clients on a wide range of complex funding transactions. The role offers significant responsibility, client exposure and the opportunity to play a visible role in the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of banking and finance matters, including:
- Acquisition finance
- Real estate and development finance
- Asset-based lending
- Restructuring and refinancing
You will take a lead role on transactions, managing deals from inception through to completion, with direct client contact and responsibility for delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing banking and finance transactions end-to-end
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements (bilateral and syndicated) and associated security documentation
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, lenders and intermediaries
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Working closely with corporate and real estate teams on multi-disciplinary transactions
- Project managing transactions, including coordinating external counsel where required
- Contributing to business development, networking and profile-raising activities in the North West
About You
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years’ PQE in banking & finance
- Strong experience across a range of finance transactions (e.g. leveraged/acquisition finance, real estate finance, restructuring)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercially astute with the ability to lead client relationships
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
- A proactive approach to business development and market engagement
