Senior Trade Mark Attorney

| Trade Mark Attorney | Senior Associate | London | Hybrid|

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Trade Mark Attorney to join a well-established and highly regarded intellectual property firm in London.

This is a senior-level position for someone who enjoys the technical and strategic aspects of trade mark work, but who is also looking to take on a greater leadership and people-management remit.

The Opportunity

You will become an important member of the firm’s trade mark practice, working with an interesting mix of UK and international clients across a broad range of industries.

Alongside managing your own portfolio of work, you will have responsibility for supervising and supporting other members of the team, helping to develop junior colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Your work is likely to encompass a wide variety of trade mark matters, including portfolio management, prosecution, clearance, strategy and contentious work. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, providing commercially focused advice and developing trusted long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of trade mark matters for UK and international clients.
  • Advising clients on trade mark strategy, protection, prosecution and enforcement.
  • Handling contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted adviser on their IP needs.
  • Reviewing and overseeing the work of more junior team members.
  • Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to colleagues.
  • Helping to allocate and manage workloads across the team.
  • Contributing to the development and growth of the trade mark practice.
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and develop new business.

About You

We are keen to hear from experienced Trade Mark Attorneys who are ready to combine high-quality technical work with genuine responsibility for others.

You will ideally have:

  • UK Trade Mark Attorney qualification, with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Strong experience across a broad range of trade mark matters.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or managing colleagues.
  • The confidence to take ownership of matters and communicate effectively with clients.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to bring out the best in those around you.
  • An interest in contributing to the wider development of a growing IP practice.

Previous formal management experience would be advantageous, but equally, this could suit someone who has already been informally leading or supervising a team and is now looking to take the next step in their career.

Why Consider This Role?

This is an opportunity to join an established IP environment where you can continue to develop your own client practice while taking a meaningful role in team leadership and the future direction of the trade mark offering.

For the right individual, there is scope to have significant influence, develop people, strengthen client relationships and play an active part in the continued success of the practice.
