About the role
This permanent position offers a diverse caseload handling high-value defendant insurance claims, primarily involving Employers and Public Liability injuries. Your responsibilities will include advising on liability issues, providing strategic legal guidance, negotiating, and representing clients at court when necessary. Working alongside experienced colleagues, including Partners and Senior Associates, you’ll play a key role in achieving positive client outcomes and supporting the firm’s growth through excellent client care and effective communication.
- Handling complex insurance claims and advising on liability and indemnity issues
- Assisting on, and managing, a diverse caseload of defendant claims
- Delivering strategic, practical legal advice to clients and insurers
- Negotiating and mediating to settle claims efficiently
- Collaborating with senior team members to strengthen client relationships
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
- Contributing to business development and firm growth efforts
The ideal candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE and demonstrable experience in Employers and Public Liability claims
- Strong knowledge of CPR and Insurance litigation processes
- Experience advising commercial clients and dealing directly with insurers
- Proven ability to manage own work effectively, meet deadlines, and generate fees
- Excellent client care, communication, and IT skills
- Attention to detail with a proactive, team-oriented approach
- Desirable: experience in high-value, catastrophic or complex injury work and business development capabilities
