The Role
- Work on complex, high-value patent matters across software, AI, electronics, and emerging technologies
- Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovative global clients
- Support litigation and opposition matters on prominent patent cases
- Collaborate with highly regarded specialists recognised for technical excellence and commercial insight
- Operate at the intersection of technologies including AI, robotics, health-tech, telecommunications, and computing
About You
You will be a trainee Patent Attorney with up to 2 years post qualification experience with an excellent background in software, AI, computer-implemented inventions, electronics, or telecommunications. You must be based within a commutable distance to London, the South West of England or Yorkshire.
Of particular interest are candidates who:
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline (advanced degrees or PhDs are a bonus)
- Have solid experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications independently (for qualified candidates)
- Are analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated by solving technically complex problems
- Can manage multiple projects effectively and demonstrate initiative
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoy building client relationships and contributing to business development activities
- Thrive in a collaborative, high-performing environment
