The role
As a Trade Mark Paralegal, you'll provide comprehensive administrative and procedural support across the full lifecycle of trade mark matters. Working alongside fee earners and the wider support team, you'll help ensure deadlines are met, filings are completed accurately, and clients receive a first-class service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and filing UK, EU, International and overseas trade mark and design applications.
- Managing trade mark prosecution from filing through to registration.
- Assisting with oppositions, official actions, recordals and other trade mark formalities.
- Supporting the management of client portfolios and large-scale recordal projects.
- Responding to client enquiries and preparing correspondence.
- Monitoring critical deadlines and maintaining accurate diary systems.
- Preparing documentation, exhibits and supporting materials where required.
- Assisting with billing, cost estimates and related administrative processes.
- Maintaining accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
About you
As an ideal candidate, you’ll be someone who combines technical knowledge with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Trade Mark Paralegal within a professional services or intellectual property environment.
- Completion of the CITMA Paralegal Course.
- Strong knowledge of UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO procedures.
- Excellent written English with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues, clients and senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
