Langtons No. 1 Gin & Sacco Mann Event – Newcastle

Last week, Sacco Mann teamed up with the founder and Managing Director of Langtons No. 1 Gin, Nick. With Nick’s assistance we hosted an informal event for a selection of people we work very closely with in the North East. The evening took place in ‘As You Like It’ in Jesmond and began with a selection of canapes and Nick explaining a little bit about his gin and the history. It was extremely interesting to hear all about the ‘boar hole’ in the Lake District where the water comes from that goes into the gin, as well as the botanicals used and unique shape of the bottle.

                          
We have hosted this event on several occasions in Leeds and it has always proved to be very successful and fun, so we felt it was time to bring Nick to Newcastle! The bar staff created a selection of cocktails and premium gin and tonics for the guests to try. Some of the biggest hits included a Bramble, French 75 and Tom Collins as well as using Langtons No 1 and their own twists on the cocktails. All the drinks were intended to be simple, tasty and easy for our guests to make themselves at home.

‘As You Like It’ kindly put on an array of food in the latter part of the evening and our guests mingled and chatted whilst enjoying their cocktails. Katie Hawke, Fiona Hill and myself would like to personally thank everyone who attended on the night and this is definitely something we would like to host again in Newcastle. Thank you also to Nick for providing his expertise (and of course, lots of gin!), Katie Pringle and Gavin Draper from Sacco Mann for helping out on the night and keeping our guests entertained.
